EnerMan
Horizon 2020
Completed
EnerMan was a Horizon 2020 Innovation Action that developed an energy-sustainability management framework for manufacturing. Treating the factory as a system that can manage its own energy use, it combined factory data collection with process and equipment models to forecast energy consumption, then used an intelligent decision-support engine to evaluate those forecasts against sustainability targets and recommend adjustments to the production line. The project was coordinated by Centro Ricerche Fiat (CRF) in Italy.

Outcomes
- An end-to-end energy-sustainability framework architecture for industrial systems, with data collection and management components.
- A prediction engine for forecasting energy consumption, coupled with an intelligent decision-support system for manufacturing optimisation.
- A visualisation platform for energy metrics and KPIs, plus VR/xR tools for workforce sustainability awareness.
- Validation across manufacturing pilot configurations, with standardisation and IPR-protection outputs.
